Ever feel like you're fighting a battle you're not sure you can win? In this message, Kent unpacks the final chapter of Ephesians and lands on one steadying word: stand.

You'll walk away knowing you don't have to manufacture victory or fight as though the outcome's uncertain — because it's already been won.

Kent closes out the Ephesians series by showing how the gospel reshapes our homes, our work, and the way we see the people around us — before turning to the real, unseen battle and the whole armour of God. It's an honest, practical look at what it means to stand firm when life is unresolved, relationships are strained, and the enemy is whispering lies.

This one will settle your feet.

BIBLE STUDY (approx. 10 minutes)

Title: Just Stand

Key Passage: Ephesians 6:10–13 (TPT)

"Now my beloved ones, I have saved these most important truths for last: Be supernaturally infused with strength through your life-union with the Lord Jesus. Stand victorious with the force of his explosive power flowing in and through you. Put on God's complete set of armor provided for us, so that you will be protected as you fight against the evil strategies of the accuser! Your hand-to-hand combat is not with human beings, but with the highest principalities and authorities operating in rebellion under the heavenly realms. For they are a powerful class of demon-gods and evil spirits that hold this dark world in bondage. Because of this, you must wear all the armor that God provides so you're protected as you confront the slanderer, for you are destined for all things and will rise victorious."

Context: Paul has spent the whole letter building from who we are in Christ to how we live it out — and now he shows us what we're really up against, and how to stand firm in a victory Christ has already secured.

Discussion Questions:

  1. Kent said if the gospel is real on Sunday but not in your living room, we've missed it. Where is it easiest for you to "put your guard down" and be a different person at home?

  2. Paul says we don't wrestle against flesh and blood. How does it change things to see the frustrating person in your life as not being the real enemy?

  3. Which piece of the armour do you tend to leave off — truth, righteousness, the gospel, faith, salvation, the word — and why do you think that is?

  4. The shield of faith also covers the person beside you. Who in your world needs you to "stand" for them this week, starting with the words you speak?

Application: This week, catch the narrative that runs in your head first thing in the morning — the accusation, the regret, the "remember when" — and call it out with the truth. Then take one step outward: speak life over someone next to you, and let your standing be for their sake too, not just your own.

Takeaway Thought: You don't have to manufacture the victory — Jesus has already accomplished it, so when it gets hard, just stand.
