Verse 14 Generation - Kristen Williams | 16 August 2026
Something is stirring — and Kristen believes a fresh awakening is coming that won't be led by big names or big stages, but by ordinary people who quietly refuse to live with a cold heart.
Kristen draws a sharp line between two responses to a darkening world — the ones whose love grows cold, and the "verse 14" tribe whose hearts burn brighter to carry hope everywhere they go.
He challenges the idea that fire is something you turn up to receive, and calls each of us to take personal responsibility to burn — in the ordinary, unseen moments of everyday life. Honest, bold, and a little confronting, it's an invitation to step out of the lukewarm and into more.
📖 BIBLE STUDY (approx. 10 minutes)
Title: Forged in the Secret Place
Key Passage: Matthew 24:12–14 (NIV)
"Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come."
Context: Kristen sets two responses side by side — the verse 12 crowd whose love grows cold as the world gets darker, and the verse 14 tribe whose hearts burn hotter to preach the kingdom everywhere. The whole message hangs on which one we're becoming.
Discussion Questions:
Kristen described two "churches" — one freaking out at the state of the world, one on fire.. Which one do you naturally lean toward, and why?
Both David and Elijah "appeared from nowhere" but were actually shaped in hidden, unseen places. What does the secret place look like in your own week?
Kristen said we can't outsource the fire of our own hearts onto the worship team or the preacher. Where have you been waiting for someone else to light a fire that's actually yours to tend?
If you took Ephesians 2:10 seriously this week — that you were created for specific good works — what's one thing you'd start doing differently?
Application: Burning hearts aren't built on Sunday mornings — they're built in the ordinary, unseen moments no one claps for. This week, that might look like getting up a little earlier, turning off the screen, and simply setting yourself before the Lord before anyone else is watching. And it means walking out the door expecting God to use us right here in the region, not just "one day" or "over there."
Takeaway Thought: You don't go to church to get on fire — you come because you're already burning.
